Are your meal plans safe for diabetics?

Category: Diet-to-Go Meals

We always recommend you talk with your doctor before starting any meal plan.

Diet-to-Go’s Balance-Diabetes meal plan specifically caters to people with diabetes, and our Balance and Vegetarian plans are geared toward weight loss and are similar nutritionally. Our menus are designed to help you control blood sugar naturally.

Balance-Diabetes follows the American Diabetes Association’s recommended carbohydrate level of 45-50% of calories (on average over the 5-week plan), and limits carbs to 45g or less per meal, and less than 1400 mg of sodium per day (for 3 meals per day). We can work with you further to adjust the carbs per meal if needed.

According to research, losing just 5-7% of your body weight can reduce your risk of type 2 diabetes by over 50%. Researchers from the Diabetes Prevention Program, the largest diabetes research trial in the U.S., found that in the group assigned to weight loss and exercise, there were 58% fewer cases of diabetes after almost three years than in the group assigned to usual care.
